Hi all,
I recently started to work with vBulletin as well and looking for an download manager too. I have seen some but was really intrested in what is in use at this site itself? The manager that is in use here looks amazing and well thought with its groups as its meant for an forum run for and by an developer. Is the download manager that is in use here an paid script and if so, where to get more info/download? I don't see any copyright note so I asume it was an mod on request? Hope to get more info and thanks for any comment! Sincerely, Dennis Sleeswijk |

Wim/Dennis,
I am a bit confused about your post. We are not using any Download Manager her at vb.org, we are using the standard vBulletin Attachment system with permissions based on usergroups like you can do with out of the box vB. The only modifications to this are that we have a special routine that checks license information and put a user in the licensed usergroup (which is the only one allowed to download) or not. Other then that we have a modification running to add some extra fields to threads of released hacks. |

And I thought I started to understand how the vBulletin forum works :s Anyway its nice setup this way and would have worked quit well for my board but since this is not an hack but relays on the vBulletin attachment system I cant use it then. I need to be able to link to files I FTP up to the site while I have an hotlink protection enabled. FTP is needed for me due the 8MB upload limit set in php.ini In that case I have to keep track on the modification like vBdownloads and use that soon v3.0 supports vBulletin 3.0.7 Thanks for your explanation Sincerely, Dennis Sleeswijk |
