Adding users by hand and sending out emails to them?

One more question -

I've tried this and sent the email to myself just to see what would happen. Once they click on the link and are entered into the moderation queue and I approve them, how do they then log into the board? They won't know their password that I've set ( I have to put a pass in when creating a user - it won't allow me to create them otherwise) so will they have to do the lost password retrieval to get a password?
