Protecting Template/Style files from piracy
Hi there,
Im hoping to eventually open a ecommerce site where I sell a mixture of php scripts and vbulletin templates/styles. However with the piracy situation growing constantly I was hoping for a way to protect my products from this. Theres many software application which can protect php and html files, also locking them to certain domains. Is there something similar available for CSS files and XML etc.. to help cease piracy of vbulletin skins? |

There is no way to protect output transferred as html in the client's browser. Amen.

You can use "call home" features, as they are called, in PHP scripts, but you can't lockdown HTML last I recall.

Codelock manages to encrypt the code both on files and html source output. However it only works with php and html file extensions and therefore wouldnt help with a CSS file or XML...
Kind of a pain as if someone wants a template bad enough without paying then they are likely to find it somewhere. |

And it is scam. Anything that is displayed as html in your client's browser at the end can be saved as html.
