Default Worried to say the least

Hi all,

I am reasonably experienced at coding, although I use a program rather than writing raw script. I have coded my website and now I want to do my forum. I have my forum layout completed in photoshop and I have sliced it all ready. Crossreferencing with the standard template Ive left the correct , expandable content boxes for all the vbulletin "stuf" i.e. navbar, actual forums and posts.

Then I went and took my first look at the styles editor... I was blown away... Its all text, no way of previewing looks without saving it, no real help in it. Is there any tutorial or easier way of moving from layout to coded forum?

I have it saved for web, but I need to get it onto my forum in a new skin. I have created the new skin but need to input all the codes etc.

If anyone understands me or if there's something I am doing wrong please tell me! Hopefully it isnt as daunting as it looks!

Questions:

Where do I start !?
Should I do it step by step... i.e. header template first?

Agh what to do...

Well any help will be great!

-Sam

I'm not familiar with Photoshop webdesign, but if you save the html file then piece the code in bit by bit, replacing the code that is needed to run the forums then that may work.

I don't have much experiance with photoshop. You'll have to name all the images with their corresponding default images (you can name them whatever you want if you want to go into the templates and change image links) and upload them into a different folder. Upload all new images etc.

There is no easy way of transferring coded stuff from a program to vBulletin. There are variables, and other things that will make any attempt from transferring code from a program to vB templates difficult. Basically, you have to create a new style and code your style through the templates. There is no way to preview it until you've saved it. But if you make a mistake, go back into the template and fix it. Using programs like dreamweaver will make it even more difficult than coding through templates.

i use several graphic programs when i design and basically what i do is a full layout of how i want the forum home to look and just slice up the images i need and replace images from a skin that i like the layout of. if there are parts to that layout you don't like, remove them or replace it.

hope that helps ya out.
