Is calling a User Rank (User Ranks used in the Admin CP) a global variable?

I tried $bbuserinfo[rank] but it failed.

Any thoughts?

I don't think it's global. Would need file modification to work in other areas.

Considering it's use is only in a very few templates, they wouldn't bother trying to make it work in other templates besides those ones.
