This is what the READ ME basically says to do:
If upgrading from vB2, do the following:
1) Backup your vB2 Database.
2) Delete all vB2 Files (NOT DATABASE!)
3) Upload all vB3 Files
4) Run
http://yourdomain.com/forums/install/upgrade.php and follow the steps.
As you see, what you did, was completely wrong.
