I would like to create a background image that is present all the time like these (flower?) shapes on left and right of main forumbits on this board.

I know a bit of HTML and can perform simple modifications by learning from existing mods but I cannot understand this.

If someone could help me begin I would be grateful.

There is another thread on it so you can look for an answer there when it comes. I don't really know. Any method I tried it only works in some areas.

Replace your Body tag with this

<body background="images/yourimage" bgcolor="#XXXXXX" text="#XXXXXX" id="all" leftmargin="10" topmargin="10" marginwidth="10" marginheight="0" link="#XXXXXX" vlink="#XXXXXX" alink="#XXXXXX">

Replace the X'S with the color you want and it will work!

I have been also reading threads on vbulletin.org and found a solution written there. I see that people here look for this also so here it is:

Goto the replacement section of your admin cp and find the replacement for <body>

Copy what you have.

Then in your 'forumhome' template find:

Replace it with the thing you just copied from the replacement section.

Then somewhere in your body tag put this:

PHP Code:


			
background="{ imagesfolder}/pagebg.gif"

Remove the gap from between the { and the imagesfolder though

Doesn't work, the bgcolor overwrites the background. Also, wouldn't you have to add it to every template page?

It worked for me. Did you remember to remove the space as said at bottom of instructions? I forgot in the start and nothing happened. Then I understood and removed it. Now it works.

Yes it has to be done to all templates you want if for. The person who asked for the help said it was for forumhome only that he wanted it so Mist gave the more easy way for it I think.
