Default Google Adsense "A Question Regarding Backup Withholding"
What is it and how do I know if I am exempt? I'm filling out my google adsense tax info and their is a checkmark saying "Exempt from backup withholding"

I read a few definitions from several sites. Some sites say as long as you provide a SSN and tax info, you are exempt from backup with holding

Other definitions make it sound like you have to have backup with holding no matter if you provide tax info, SSN, etc.

I guess the current backup withholding rate is 28%. If they also take taxes out at the end of the year, plus the 28% thats over half of my earnings. So since I'm providing my tax info and SSN, would I be exempt from backup withholding?
