I would like to have a link to special members on the homepage. These special members will be flagged off by administrators and will comeup on the "Special Members" page. This main page will showcase the member pictures and when clicked will show their profile....has anyone seen this done?

You mean like this?

Its a default feature of vb3. Just add the members to a secondary usergroup and set the option so it appears on the leaderboard.

You cannot showcase pictures with the associated member...
