If you're suggesting that enabling HTML on a vBulletin forum makes the server itself vulnerable to attack I'm nearly certain that you're mistaken. But if anyone here wants to explain how that might be possible I'm all ears.

This thread has been really amusing. I'll post again a year from now and let y'all know whether or not my life was ruined by allowing a few of my users access to HTML tags on my forum. That is, if I'm still able to make it here after the catastrophe.
