"Well, as Insanctus has been banned, we will close this thread now.
You can still try to contact him per mail. If you did not have his email (which is problematical as you should know more about a coder than just his nickname on vb.org) you can contact one of the staff of course" According to the userdatabase Insanctus is currently not banned. Picked up from the last thread about him. I believe he is still active here under a different name, since there is a user here who uses an email name with @darksanctum.net. Darksanctum apparently was the development site of Insanctus. I required a service a few days ago and have discussed matters through msn with the above member. Since the money deposit/down payment he hasn't been online (msn) and hasn't replied to my emails. The deadline was supposed to be today. I have given him till friday to reply, but still...it's odd he has never shown his face on msn or hasn't replied. Admins, please let me know if I can post the username here so things can finally be sorted. I would like to know if these users use the same IP to post etc. |

You can send the membername to one of our Staff members in a PM. We can however not promise that any action can/will be taken or that feedback on results can be given to you.

Well, hopefully some action will be taken if it's the same individual.
For example ban all future users who use an email with the suffix @darksanctum.net Make a sticky post about trustworthy forum members who develop hacks Make a sticky post with untrustworthy users with as much details about that individual as possible (email suffixes used, way of approach which can be entered by those who have dealt with them). I'm almost 100% positive it's the same person. Insanctus is the owner of http://sanguin.net and has posted several items about his future site, namely darksanctum.net. We all know that someone using the suffix @darksanctum.net has to be able to use the domain panel of that specific url in order to forward mail etc. Furthermore, if it is the same user I at least have his contact details (whois.com, or godaddy). This individual has ripped off many members here. It's time those people combine forces and do something about it. |

Thanks Bernd, the staff is investigating it and apropriate action will be taken.
Still, you might want to check some references of your coder before hiring them. As references you could check for example, if that user released any modifications here on vBulletin.org, or if he has recieved any positive feedback from previous service requests. If you paid by PayPal you can try to get your money back by filing a dispute. |

Word of advice on requesting money back from Paypal.. Do not say it's for non delivery of a script, as Paypal will tell you they can do nothing, close the dispute and will not reopen it..

The issue is that the paypal "send money" form uses categories and descriptions.
I filled in Category: service. Description: down payment gallery. Thanks for the advice BluPhoenix. I'm not sure how to present this to paypal because of the above fields that were filled in. |

Thanks for the advice. I will wait till friday before I report this fraud to Paypal (giving him the chance to reply, but probably won't hear anything).
There is a dutch legal system where I can report fraud freely as well. Hopefully something can be done. It seems weird to me that people can get away with internet fraud that easily, especially with paypal and solid proof of several users. |
