the quick reply of vb.com is no hack, it's the new vbuleltin version and you won't find it here

I had problems getting the image verfication in V2.3 working - you have to set the new GD option in the admin panel General Options. Specify which version of the GD image library you have installed and the image verification thing appears on the signup page.
