The first bulletin board site that I created uses phpbb 2.0.11 and Photopost. It now has 238 users and 268 photos in the Gallery. I have since created two sites with vBulletin and would like to purchase a third vBulletin license and port the phpbb site over. I understand that there are import utilities to handle the porting of the bulletin board posts and user info, etc. but I'm concerned about losing the Photopost gallery user information connection. Has anyone successfully done this and are there any tips on how to attempt it? Thanks for any and all input!

Thanks Trent. I was hoping it would be that simple.

I went through something similar with vb2. The problem I had which you may run into is if the photo ID's don't match up with the user ID's. I can't remember all the details of my situation (it's been about 2 years ago now), but all my photo's ended up being one user off. Just something for you to keep in mind. I believe there is some discussion about this and a possible solution to the problem at the Photopost site.

I think you are right. I saw something about this yesterday and will investigate further before trying to execute the switch over. Thanks!

Fortunately with PP5, userids are no longer used as part of the filenaming comvention. But if the userids do change, you need to update the userid of the owner of the images to reflect the userid under the new system. But you dont have to be concerned about renaming files.

Thank you for this information! So if I successfully pull over the posts and forum stuff and then upgrade to version 5 of Photopost the photos would still be positioned in the correct user member gallery? That's great!
