Default One Username Per IP

I've looked through the hacks as best I can and couldn't find anything, but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss it because I consider this important. Is there a hack that will only allow one username to be registered per IP address? I've been to a few forums that have this feature, but I cannot find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
ZEJUX

hi,

what you say is impossible to create ... there is no way (trustable) way of determining that.if you are logged in and you click the register link vb will tell you "our records show that you are already registererd" but the thing yo want is simply impossible as most people are on dynamic ip ranges .If you run a site that uses paid subscriptions you could use something like the vbloginlog hack to see if people are sharing accounts but what you ask i don't think it will ever come

vbloginlog

also before you can download anything here you must be licenced or you can't ...

I haven't bought my vBulletin license yet because I want to make sure I can run a nice forum with the hacks I want... so far I found a few I think would work well. I'll probably buy a license sometime at the end of this year or the beginning of next.

Thanks,
ZEJUX

Hello Everyone, i am new to this forum, so i thought i'd introduce myself :-)
Just a quick reply to the above question, it is very hard to keep people from having multiple usernames, as they can still use diffrent ISP, and different proxies, especially that most people have dynamic Ip's it changes every couple hours, not all of them but most of them do, and people using AOl it's almost impossible to stop them lol.

Have a nice day :-)

all i have to do is download aol . log in to my moms name. go on your forums register. log off aol log back on register again go onto my cable register. now i have 1 good account cable and 2 spamming or hacking accounts thnx to good ol aol. so like said you can not stop anything from ip address. unless your site is for static ip uses only. since even dsl is dynamic ip somtimes and will give you 134.532.132.4 and 2 hours later connect recconect 664.345.343.34
