reg users cant access newpost page
Ok I searched for this and cant really find it. Maybe its something very silly and easy but I cant figure it out. Now I checked up and down on my admin cp for this and was surprised not to find it unless I am blind?
For some reason with my user test account I cant access my new posts link. They get a you do not have permission to access this page. Works fine for my Admin, Super Mod and Mod accounts but not my Registered User account. Please let this green horn know where to look to fix this as I am sure its a very easy thing and I am just blind or something. I checked the permissions of all the user groups. Was wondering if there is a check box for view New Post? I did not see one. I have the following hacks. vbAdvanced ibProArcade - uShop & uCash |

Ok checked it and all the forums have the default settings. One thing I did notice is that one of my forums (my Staff forum)
is set up so only mods and up can access it. It also has a password. So here is what I am guessing but I dont know much so I could be wrong. Im thinking that somehow that since there are new posts in this forum that somehow its being calculated in the new posts for registered users as well. If this is the case is there any way I can make it so the posts in here are not calculated for the new post page for registered users? Thats the only thing I can think off.

The new post link is a search function, so make sure that registered users are allowed to search.

Funny you should say that because I was thinking the same thing when I saw search.php in the address bar when attempting to access that feature/ (and I do for some reason have the search disabled) - so I made a new group with the same features as the reg users but enabled the search feature. In doing so when I click on the new post link from my main forum it works (surprise - surprise)! But the really odd thing is now that usergroup gets the ?you do not have permissions to access this page error when ever I try to go to the vbAdvanced portal page? lol ? never ending cycle
So before I enable searching for the registered user group anyone have any idea why I would not be able to access my portal page with the search feature turned on? (that just sounds to weird? to me? hehe? |
