I remembered a few posts a little while back where people were complaining about the (relatively) plain look of the vB control panel, especially when compared to the UBB control panel.
I've always had a slightly altered control panel for my vB, so as I was applying my modifications to the 1.1.5 version today, I thought I'd share it with everyone else.
The functionality is identical, although some hyperlinked controls have been replaced with forms (in particular, long lists such as the list of templates have been replaced with multiline <select> elements)... In use, this version produces html pages of about the same size as the original version, sometimes smaller, and is very quick and intuitive to use.
Anyway, here's a few little screenshots, and a link for you to download the modifications if you like them.

To use this, simply upload the files in the zip archive into your forums/admin folder, overwriting the existing files. You will want to backup your original files first... just in case.
If Jelsoft want to include this modified version with future pre-2.0 releases, just go ahead and include it.
Cheers all. Enjoy

I don't think you guys are truly understanding here.... We don't want this in v2.0 We want the original creator to simply get permission to release this ON HIS OWN as a hack or update. It does not need to be tested, does not need to be in v2.0, does not need to be supported. It is just for those of us that are too lazy to do all the work on our own to update our Control Panels. It has NOTHING to do with v2.0
i think we know, it is only vboard who is confused.
i was suggesting a place (this had been talked about before) where registered users could place files that only other registered users could download from. James agreed it was a good idea and is looking into it. Once that is there you can then put the hack there so other people can use it. Where vboard got something about v2 or slowing it down from i have no idea.
Originally posted by Colosus Can we get an answer on this? This looks great and I personally would like to use it. Or is it possible for the designer to rewrite this as a hack and a seperate zip with the images?? Please?
Couldn't you just make DIFF's from the sources... Would that violate license too?
Because then you wouldn't be distributing vBulletin code, just patch to it?
I do not understand what there is to look into. There is already the members area for the file dowloads. Just add a section for other downloads that states "these files are not supported by Jelsoft, use at your own risk".

we want a way for registered users to put them there in the first place as well, jelsoft don't have time to run around changing html code and uploading files, if we could do it ourselves that would be best. I am sure something will be sorted out soon.
I think this should be rectified very soon as alot of people including myself are NOT going to do an upgrade immediately following the release of 2.0! I was planning on working with nuke2vb and vb 2.0 on integrating the phpnuke package with it including but NOT limited to:
* Integrated Control Panel of both phpnuke and vb.
* Improved WEBLinks in phpnuke.
If anyone wants a site for the uploading and downloading of members only hacks then I can donate the space as I have plenty of it! Let's get this show on the ROAD!
