Default Once Again, Requests Fails

I'm finding this community very unhelpful so far. I've had multiple requests, as I've stated in this forum before, and they've all gone un-filled. I understand that some of them might not be good, but this one I think is.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=68712

I've talked to multiple people outside of this community, and all of them have agreed this would be a great hack. In addition, I could easily see this being a feature in the next release of VB. So why won't anyone help out, or even be selfish and try and win Hack of the Month?

Well you can't expect every request to get filled asap. Plus that post is 4 days old. Give it time. Remember were doing this on our free time for free. This site offers over 2000 hacks for free right now. So i think saying that the community of vb.org is unhelpful is unfair.

I see tons of requests where people say "this would be awesome" and they never get made.

And i see alot of request get made. coding takes time. And people have lifes, and there own forums to attend to. So give it some time. If you want it that bad. www.php.net, vbulletin.org, and sitepoint.com is were i i learned all my coding so far. The more you read and trail and error the more you start to understand the code.

I think you shouldn't regard our hack requests forum as a service like vb.com's support forums. Our hack requests forum is not here to get people's requests coded instantly but they are here to inspire hackers who are looking for nice ideas to code in their free times. It is inevitable that only few of them will be done eventually because coding a hack usually takes a few hour-day work and it is not easily possible to find someone who will volunteerily make them all.

As for your request it has an important technical drawback so it will appeal to only very few people even if coded. The file upload size the server accepts depends on MYSQL and PHP configurations as well apart from vb admin cp restriction and they are set as 2 Mb. by default in most of the servers. So even if you get a hack that increase this in your admin cp, PHP/MYSQL settings of the server will overrule your setting and the hack will be useless until server admin increases the server quotes which is very hard unless you own the server. So the hack will appeal to only people who are on dedicated servers.

I normally help out if I find that this is a feature that would be helpful on my board as well or if I have coded something similiar for a client before. Anything else is normally just too much work, as this is my free time...
I also try to help out if its just a few lines of code, even though that normally ends up with 5 replies about how exactly to implement it... Oh well...

Maybe:
1. It would be "awesome" only for the user's very specific type of forum,
2. It would require an inordinate amount of time to code,
3. It is not clearly possible using vB,
4. It has already been done and a search is implied,
5. It is already built into vB, whether immediately obvious or not,
6. It is a template modification, not a file edit,
7. It would violate the vB license agreement...

As stated several times, this is a volunteer community, even moderators. While we don't intentionally ignore requests, it is unreasonable to expect that the tens of thousands of modification requests made will be fulfulled.

Exactly my sentiments also.
