basically so a user or me could post a new post from a mobile sms text or via a email to a forum

I highly doubt you could post via SMS Text, sadly. You could probably do it via WAP or GPRS/Bluetooth enabled phones.

for vb2 there was a hack to email posts into the board.

i think the main parts of the hack will work with vb3 as well, you just have to rename some of the functions
