vBlog - Your ideas and requests for a blog

The format of weblogs varies, from simple bullet lists of hyperlinks, to article summaries with user-provided comments and ratings. Individual weblog entries are almost always date and time-stamped, with the newest post at the top of the page.

You can find out more about Weblogs (Blogs) at Wikipedia. I'm running a weblog and realized that lot of visitors are discussioning at my blog insteat of using my vB. So though of a way how to combine my blog and my vB to increase the traffic an both sites.

So I started this night on coding vBlog, a blog for vB. You can already take a look at the preview on my site, but there is still some work to do before I will release this hack.

Until this is the status of development:

• Choose one forum as source for your weblog via adminpanel - Done
• Choose the amount of displayed blog-entries via adminpanel - Done
• Choose the amount of displayrd comments via adminpanel - Done
• Display Who is online - Done
• Complete XHTML valid - Free of any table :devious: - Done
• Teaserfunction: You can define the number of letters, which should be displayed at your blog. The rest is available by reading the posting in your board. - Done
• Categories: I think it might be useful in this case to combine this hack width Thread Category / Prefix Hack from Mystics.
• Messagearchiv: Blogs are also known for their archives. This will be some more work, but I will try to code it as fast as possible
• Avatardisplay: This is of course a Must-Have: Your avatar beside the text

Before you post your feature requests, I would to to point one thing: This is blog and not a portal. So there won't be any blocks you can add and all that crap. Just a nice and plain Weblog.

So, if you have any ideas which feature should be added - Let me know
