Questions before I buy...
Hello all,
Right now, I have a Proboards. I have been craving a vB for a while (Along with all my members). I have gotten the money, and am about to purchase. The thing that worries me though, Is I have little knowledge of the way a vB works. I particpate on numberous vB's, but don't really know If I'd be capabl of downloading hacks, and acttually running a vB. My vB would be for my card shop. It would be a place for members to just chat, hangout, and have fun. I would like the Shop Hack Codes (A few minor codes that go with that), and anything else to improve my board. So with all that said, do you need a ton of knowledge to run a vB? Also, anyone have a good cheap Domain site where I could put my vB on? Thanks, Phillip |

vb is very easy to set up and to run.
also most hacks (but not all) are easy to install as well. the best tip is to always have a testboard installed locally to test new hacks/changes first, before you do them to your life board. once you've admined a vb for a few weeks, you will be fit enough to change everything and all (i mean greater things) |

The best thing about vb is the hacking community here,... tons of experts around when ya need it =p
When we started with vb, we didn't know much about php but vbulletin is well coded and after installing a few hacks, you kind of get a feel for where everything is and what certain things do. The hacks themselves are usually well documented so installing them isn't to bad. Once you pick up on it, even the harder hacks arent to difficult imho. |
