I'm getting ready to upgrade my site from VB2.x.x to VB3RCx and I'm looking for what the best thoughts are to upgrade it?

backup your database and run the upgrade script, theres really no other way

I know that part, that's pretty basic I'm actually talking about all the various hacks I want. Think the best way is to just shut the board down for a bunch of hours while the board is being upgraded and the hacks are being installed

Shut it down, load the upgrade script ... then apply the hacks one by one.
