I'm a mod/admin on armageddononline.org and recently we have the following problem:
A lot of posts suddenly were gone missing entirely, complete threads even! 7 hours later they were back up again. Now when I delve a bit deeper the following things seem to happen:

Logging in at work: Timesetting (GMT+1) OK, time is according to watch. Posts/threads and some PM's are missing; I keep being THE ONLY USER online.
At work I'm on Tiscali, SDSL.

Logging in at home: dial-up connection (ISDN) through superweb.nl Time on the board is totally screwed up (7 hours earlier than my watch) All posts are back, all threads are back, I can read latest PM's, nothing is the matter. Loads of members and guests online...

Some of our users - and I myself had my suspicions - were thinking of a hostile hacking invasion. Any of you have any thoughts on this?? The integrity of our board is very important to us/me and as a responsible person, I would like to have things corrected damn fast, before users are walking out on us.

The only person on the board getting access to that site is the guy that purchased the software, our head honcho. I'll see if he can do something there. The only problem is that his expertise in these matters is small, to use an euphemism. Meanwhile, no suggestions or thoughts?

Sounds pretty much like a job for the guys at vB.com, very odd error though have to admit

Then again if you have installed any hacks from here then im not sure if they help you out, if the error is the result of a hack.

Thnx MindTrix. We contacted VBulletin, but so far nothing comes out.
The problem is getting stranger: at work I'm 11 days behind in posts (no new posts showing up at all, except my own), while at home everything works like clockwork.

We have tried setting the overall time to EST in stead of GMT, but that did not help. I somehow get the feeling that some way or another there might be 2 databases present.

I have installed some hacks, but they only contain cosmetic changes, nothing fiddling with the database.
