Default IP Adresse Verification Hack

I would like it so that a user can not login if his IP addresse does not match the one that he registered from. I have a couple of users who are very annoying and spam my board alot, and they know how to change their IP. If you could do this I would appreciate it greatly.

This is impossible since not everyone who connects to the internet are on a static IP. If everyone was given a static IP #, then this of course would be possible. An example is myself. The first two numbers in my IP # never change but the last two always do when I reconnect to the internet.

There is no way you can inforce this by using IP #s.

Well, that all depends on how you define "spam my board a lot".

Do they register and just post bull++++ all the time?

If so, I suggest manual validation of accounts and manual validation of the first 10 posts.

Personally, you should ban all free e-mail accounts. That's how they're spamming your forums by registering over and over again.

For my forum, I personally validate all new accounts. If the e-mail they registered with comes from a free e-mail provider or host, I don't validate them. People who connect to the internet usually pay for their internet service and that internet service provides a paying customer with an e-mail address.

All spammers and trolls use free e-mail accounts because they don't want to he held accountable for their idiotic actions on a forum. Disallowing free e-mail providers is a great way to keep such troublesome members out of your forum.

Just a suggestion.
