Email Domains
Is there a way to set up vbulletin so that only people who have email from a certian domain can register.
This is for a school and we would only like students with school email addresses to be able to become members. Thanks |

TheDewster,
You are currently showing up as unlicensed. To be able to download hacks and/or receive support here at vBulletin.org, we ask you to please click here (vB-germany users click here) and enter your email address, to show us that you are licensed. You will need to use your customer number and password (which will be in the email you got when you paid for your license) to access that page. Please note that your email is case sensitive. Thank you. |

I need to know this before I can buy the software license. I need to know that people with only certian email domains can become members, the sales staff said they werent for sure.
I thought this was the pre-sales questions. |

Sorry, I thought you were implying you already had vB.
You can see the full registration options at the vB admin demo: http://www.vbulletin.com/admindemo/admin/ (log in as admin/admin). |

"Email addresses to ban
Email Ban Lists: You may ban certain email addresses from registering on your forums. To ban a specific email, type the full email address (as in, waldo@whereiswaldo.com). To ban all email addresses from certain domains, such as hotmail, simply type the domain name (as in hotmail.com)- that will prevent anyone using a hotmail address from registering. Put a space between each banned email." I would like to know if the reverse of this can be done, so that only domains i put in will be able to register... Thanks for the help. |

Not in stock vB, although IIRC such a hack has been written. Even if it hasn't, it should be reasonably easy to write.

it's indeed very easy to do, as you have just to reverse one if condition (add one single ! ) ^^

This is exactly what I'm looking for. I want to lock down a forum so that ONLY users with an email of email@domain1.com or email @domain2.com can view/post but refuse everyone else. Can anyone point me to a hack that would accomplish this? TIA.
