Hello,
I would be very interested to hear back from you experienced ones as to what steps to take before we launch our forums to make sure everything works smoothly. I am particularly interested in the security aspects. Thank you very much Cheers |

Is this vB2 or 3?
In any case, .htaccess your admin subdirectory. In vB3, rename both admin and mod cp subdirectories, and pop the new name in config.php. Restrict your admin cp access to yourself only if possible. In vB3, you can restrict the features allowed to other admins. |

Thank you Erwin for the suggestions. they are very helpful for me to prevent any unexpected , unpleasant happening after i launch my forums.
Okay, I am using stable release of ver 2.3.0 ! I plan to stick to the same version even after vB3.0 is released as i have installed quite a lot of hacks from here and also, I may not need the extra features that vB3 will offer excepting its security features. Quote:

I don't think its possible to rename the admin/mod directory in vB2 without making some changes to some files.
As for htaccess, try this: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=36846 There is another hack, but I can't find it |

Upgrade to vB 2.3.2 there was at least one security (an XSS expolit) that was fixed in it.
