Default The hassle of it all

I've spent the last half an hour trying in vain to give my keyboard a good clean. With a cat who loves sitting next to you and watching the mouse move across the screen while purring contently - you get the occasional hair fall on the keyboard and into the gaps between the keys. And somehow crumbs of food and lots of other stuff was under all the keys..

So.. I took the venture of trying to clean it out. Firstly I had to unscrew 10 keys and when i did it i found all the technical stuff and the circuit boards etc. And the keypad came off but it had a plate underneath it where all the stuff was which wasn't removable. So I tried to get the stuff up with a vaccum cleaner to no avail. And that didn't work. So I randomly took a deep breath out and lots of stuff came out the keyboard. I'd had a brainwave !

So.. my dad had this new electric air pump so i got a little plastic nozzle on the end of it to concentrate the air and it got about half the debris out of it. Still my keyboard remains dirty and I remain an unhappy man

So much for microsoft efficiency huh...

They can't make a keyboard that is cleanable. Pathetic

I know what you mean....

I have been through about 3 keyboards over the last 5 years. Things like ash, food, hair, dust....ack.

Maybe you should get your "Cleanable Keyboard" idea patented, lol. I'd buy one

Luckily, keys of my keyboard snap into the top half and all the circuitry stays on the bottom half. This leaves nothing but a plastic
piece that I can wash off with warm water.

Now that I look at it, I think it's about time to clean it again.

I love my keyboard though. It's been with me for 2 years now and it's what I have used since I got interested in computers. I can now type ub3r fast and it's all thanks to this glorius keyboard

I bet I can type faster than you Dean

This keyboard has been with me since December 2001, so it is getting old too - Lukcily it isn't that dirty, but I bet if I looked in between the keys I would die of a heart attack - I know that there are some crumbs down there

Good - As long as it isn't Bill Gates's idea of a practical joke keyboard, I couldn't care less if it costed $1
