Damn straight.
Basically I'd like to be able to have something similar to the phpMyChat integration, but it would work with an IRC channel on irc.myserver.com in #mychannel. Users could either be in the channel using an IRC client, or using something built into the boards. Also, maybe there could be a bot that would allow users logged in via an IRC client to authenticate themselves as a forum user, so they could show up as "Currently chatting" or something, and wouldn't have to use the built in thing.... Anyone? |

even I could toss a hack together for that pilot IRC thing, but unless you have the paid verison of that script, its useless to me.

What I did was grabbed EIRC off of sourceforge (awesome java irc applet) and tossed the code for it into an announcement. Feel free to check it out on my board. Since I run an IRC server, it's handy, and a lot of the members who don't even know what IRC is come to it. I also added a 'Chat!' button to the header.

What about adding an extra table and some code in index.php that would run a bot in the chat room which could report how many people were in it, and users in IRC could message the bot with an auth message to validate them as being forum user X, so they'd show up as being in the chat room...?
