Some people are able to see the hidden forums within my site. How is this? Someone mentioned something about mod view but I have no clue what the hell that is.

Are you sure you set your forum permissions correctly?

I did. I don't know if it had something to do with the update or what. Apparently, some people have been peeking into private areas since last month. Again, I've checked individual settings and overall settings (user, etc) and I can't figure it out.

Under your Forum Permissions settings, when you edit a usergroup, be sure that the "Use custom settings" radio button is selected. That seems to be a very common thing that people overlook.

done. He said something about a slipup. I've deleted all the non used usersetting (banned, etc) and tweaked the forum access masks.
Hope that works, thanks. |

Could it be that when I activated the board after the initial updates, some sensitive things could've been floating around?

vb is really secure, so 99% of such security problems are produced by the admin itself.
Maybe someone found out your PW and changed the permissions? Or someone who got acces to the db itself could have manipulated things, too |
