Background music throughout whole site

Does anyone have an idea of how to do this without frames/iframes etc? I'm just curious if it can be done, but not sure how.

I want to have a background sound playing and even if you go to a different page within the site it continues playing, not start over and play, but play continuesly even when you switch pages, any ideas?

Hmm, the only way I can think of it working like that is with frames, could there be any other way?!

Not if you want it to keep playing while you switch pages, no.

You could make the page framed. Having a 1px frame, barely visible or noticable and do it that way.

I had something like that set up a long time ago. The members liked it at first, but quickly got annoyed with it. And then there's the downside of not being able to see the url in the url bar...

There's quite a few disadvantages to it...

- Slow loading for 56k users
- The annoyingness of it
- The member may not enjoy that song
- The inability to turn the music off?

To name but a few

oh, no, i was going to make it an option to turn it on/off if they wanted, but maybe i'll just make a small pop up for it

i was aiming for when you clicked a link it popped up a little window with play/stop etc in it, so only people that wanted to listen to it could, sorry, probably should've clarified in the beginning

Embed it with flash - it will take less than 2seconds to load on a 56k and work wonderfully with a stop and start button
