You can do this:

in /admin/functions.php find:

Below that add:

 if ($post[posts]>0) { 
   $post[customrank]="newbie";
   } elseif ($post[posts]>10) {
    $post[customrank]="not so much of a newbie";
   } elseif ($post[posts]>20) {
    $post[customrank]="getting there";
   } else { 
    $post[customrank]="Non-newbie"; 


Then add $post[customrank] anywhere in the postbit template.

You will need to edit the code to suit your needs. basicly the numbers are the amount of posts a member needs to have the rank, the text is the title itself.
