Members password protected forums?

Bleh. I really need to learn how to make hacks...I think half the forum wants to kill me because of it. :P

I was hoping if someone could spare the time to look into this for me, or possibly suggest a link if its already out?

I was looking at a member suggestion, and we have a roleplay forum in our main forums. He said that would it be possible for him to make a topic in the roleplay forum that was password protected, that only he and his friends could use to roleplay in private.

Now, as far as I know, only admins can make password protected forums, but I was hoping if there was a way for your ordinary member to make a topic in the roleplay forum (Not a whole new forum or category in itself) that he could password protect himself and give the password out to his friends. (Oh, and I use 2.2.9 :P)

I'm not sure if this already exists and i'd be very grateful if someone was able to help me out. I have had people screaming for this type of thing. x_X
