Go into your root/global.php file and find:

$timenow=vbdate($timeformat,time());

and replace it with:

$timenow=vbdate("g:i a", time()) . " on " . vbdate("l, F j, Y",time());

Make sure you set the time and date variables to how you want them to actually show up.
