replying to a post.
greetings. someone enlighten me if this already exists.
When replying to a post no one has any idea who is replying to who, unless you quote their text, or type their name. Is it possible to add a little line above your post indicating who you are replying to? If you reply to a post directly above yours nothing gets displayed which means you are responding to the person right above your post. BUT if you reply to someone else in the thread a little: "Responding to: username" will appear, look at the picture attached for an example. I think this would be useful instead of always quoting someone. also maybe link the username in the "responding to:" to the actual post you are replying to. |

okay, I have a question. Is it possible to reply to a certain post ID with vb? I see each post here has an ID (post # on upper right hand side of each post).
I am thinking of doing this myself, but I do not know if this is possible with vb to reply to a certain post and not to the entire thread in general, then I could probably add a reply link to each post and go from there.... any ideas? |

Threaded View which allows you to see who replyed to what post will be standard in vB3.

apparently this will not be in vb3
anyone know if this is possible to do? take a look at the image in the first post for an example. it would be nice to know who you are responding to without quoting their post. |

yes, with vb3 this will be done, because you can use the quoted post id, without showing the quote itself
