one of our admins is running our vBulletin off his computer, and we are having very few problems with it, but our forums are growing and his internet connection is slowing down immensly, so i wanted to know, if there any way to reduce the pressure that running this forum has on his connection
What internet connection does he have? It all depends on his computer and internet connection, if the net connection isn't good, you will have to pay for hosting, like Mist said, it's cheaper in the long run...
Like others have said, you can host several things on another server, you can also try to reduce queries, etc. to give a smaller load on the computer.
There's a lot of other things you can do, but in effect it's the internet connection which is slowing down and eventually it will be too slow.
