If you want a good search engine ranking for your forum, read my article. It's full of information you can use to get your forum noticed by thousands of people. I'll show you how to choose Keywords and Phrases, how and where to put them in your Title, Page Copy, META tags, and Alt tags. I'll also give you some tips on submiting your forums URL to the major search engines and web directories. You can read the full article at www.windowsxplained.com/Articles.html. There's a PDF version also. Enjoy!

Nice article
One thought though, the forum description text that you added can be added to the forumhome_unregmessage template because the spiders are not logged in. Amy |

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the article.
That's an excellent suggestion Amy. Having your Keywords and Key Phrases in both templates would be a big bonus. The more matching Keywords and Phrases a Search Engine detects in the Page Copy the higher your rankings will be. Great tip! |

There is also a hack that allows you to set meta tags for individual forums. Combined with the search engine friendly URLs, I have a feeling that would help with placement too.

That would certainly help but the same Keywords and Phrases used in those META tags will also need to show up in the Page Copy just like on the forumhome Template. Some search engines are just picky that way, but you've got me curious now. I'll have to check out that hack and do some experimenting.

What hack is it, and is it current?
