Has anyone expanded the "Who's Online" functionality across an entire web site?
I realize that there is already a hack that allows you to display how many users are on your forums on a non-vbulletin page of your site, however, I'd like to take that a step further.
What I want to accomplish is not just to have a count of how many people are on the "forums", but put some custom stand alone code in place and tie it into every page on a site. This code would create a session in the vbulletin database and track what page the user is on throughout the entire web site, not just the forums. This way, the "count" and the listing of members/guests and what they are doing displayed on the who's online page would represent the entire web site. Furthermore, the count or user's list shown using the who's online hack available now would also represent this then also. I hope everyone gets what I am trying to get at here. If not, let me know and I'll try to elaborate better. However, what I am wondering is if there is already code in existence to do this or whether I'll end up just having to write it myself. |
