my forum has about 4 clans for different games on it. There are user groups for each one of these clans. is there a way that someone can fill out a field on registration that will automatically set them into a user group or do i have to keep doin it manually?

You could use the same coding I used for my hack and just change the stuff around so that they can select it in their profile. If you're not familier with PHP I can do it for you.
