Has anyone run across this error when trying to restore a MySQL dump?
MySQL server has gone away Looking in the error log, it says: 020726 20:42:01 Aborted connection 137 to db: 'vbulletin' user: 'root' host: `l ocalhost' (Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet') Okay, no biggie, so I add the option --set-variable max_allowed_packet=512M and I still have the problem. Does anyone know the solution? I thought I might be a bad dump, but it does it with my last three dumps. I did restore a dump from 3+ months ago that was much smaller. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. David |

Timing out is not the only reason listed.
