Poll on non-vB page?
Hey everyone! I did a search on this and only found a ton of people asking for it, yet, no one had the hack for it. I am looking for a hack that can "grab" a poll from vB and then make it a poll on any non-vB page. I am using the "Logician NEWS: Drag Any Message to Your Main Page" for my site, and that works great... if someone can come up with something similar to that for polls that would be simply awesome!
Anyways, let me know... hopefully this thread doesn't end up like the many others that have asked. Sincerely, Andrew |

Are your polls in a single forum, or in any forum? I might be able to help you with this one.
Have a look at this thread also. Darren. |

I didn't think about something that was brought up there.... regular visitors wouldn't be able to vote on the poll... which wouldn't be cool.
Anyways, they would be in a single forum... and I would only want the polls created by the Admins or Moderators (would be even better to say only specific user names). However, don't attempt this unless anyone can vote in the poll... including non-vB registered visitors. Thanks for your time... |

I must admit that I'm with Logician on this one.
Have a look for vbindex 1.3 (in the Full Releases Section). There's a polls facility in that (written by wajones from vbportal). You should be able to use the polls bit on non-vb pages by requiring vb's global.php file at the very top of the non-vb page, before the [HTML] tag. You will need to tinker with the vbindex 1.3 index.php file and create some new custom templates for the poll stuff. |
