Some of these features like battle system, conception of HP, MP, STR, some more are original ideas & works by Final Fantasy, Squaresoft and yet some coders, hackers, or leechers have dare to say "it is my codes, (edit or copy) graphic or ideas, dont steal it or add me as author/credit of that codes or I ll do something!" something like that. I m speaking for anyone who use these ideas and codes that coders made, did they EVER contact Squaresoft to ask their permission to use their ideas/graphics/system for any kind of websites, forums, programs, activities, nor games? I guarantee that NO one ever try since they know what Squaresoft will do to them if they feel like to do that but offically Squaresoft aint care or they ever will since they made billions and billions of $$$ from that, boy we re fortunately that they didnt even try to lift their small pinkie finger to sue us for using their graphic works or ideas.
There are different kind of rpg making programs such as RPG Maker 2000, they stole lots, lots of Squaresoft's graphic works, ideas, battle system, and more also many websites or forums stole much more than rpg making community does. So who is the original maker and maker's ideas for these excellent features? Squaresoft do and always will, so no one have right to say that they re original author as long as Squaresoft still have that copyrighted images, ideas, system, and more. They still make more games for us to play or [cough]steal their ideas, graphics, nor system as usual[/cough]
So it aint matter who code it up or not, as long as they cannot claim that it is their idea or their copyright since Squaresoft is the who own these copyrights before even Web Creator, Tim Berner-Lee invent the World Wide Web.
But again, I agree with afterlab's anology, I just merely speaking as devil's adovcate and we have to be careful what we talk about "ideas" cuz at least 60 percent of these ideas that we re using at our forums, sites, games, and more are copyright by these companies. I m not surprise if someday these companies have enough of us and send wolves to get over with us. (that is a major reason I graduated as 3D artist so that images are my copyright to protect my ass before that happen.)
BTW, afterlab your site/forum look so amazed and excellent. Fabulous job with map feature!
zajako, I hope that ya re still keep your plan to finish this hack cuz I d like to see how your forum look like whenever ya finish with it. =)
