Uploading files to the website (not the DB)?
<i>I hope this is in the right forum. Please advise and correct if not.</i>
On my forum, moderators are solely responsible updating a tech tips forum. (it's visible but closed to others) They would love to be able to upload pictures to a folder on the site to go with the tech tips. I'm not sure it makes sense to upload them into the database (or how they would be referenced if they were in the database). I'm sure that I can create a specific folder with write permission (CHMOD 777) but I have no idea how to write the code that would allow moderators and administrators to upload files to the web folder. I don't want to have them FTP the files because some of my moderators are not that computer literate. I don't want them to send me the files because I don't have the time to do it. Any ideas? |

I'm sure you can find tons of free PHP (or else!) scripts doing this thing. Since what you need does not necesarily require vb-integration, I think you can use one of these scripts.. Install it to a special directory and provide only the moderators with its URL..
You can begin digging at http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/ and http://php.resourceindex.com/ |
