How can you get it on all pages IE: forumdisplay, thread, etc...

Hello.

My forum has been working for over 10 years on vb and I have come to version 4.2.5 and php 7.1.33.
Everything is fine.
What is the main reason to move to php 8.x and pay hundreds of dollars?
Security ? But who would want to hack a forum?
