Default My vB4 its has been scrapped or hacked
Hi community, my vB version is 4.2.4

I have banned a guy that probably have skills on scrapping or hacking or dont know what

I have download links from mega, mediafire, google drive and yandex disk in thousand of posts

I have a lot of download links that are actually posted in this banned guy web site, this guy is in some way is having access to my download links (to see my posts you dont need to loged in), but loged off this guy is scrapping the download links or hacking my vB4

In fact this guy is moking of my forum because he say vB sotware is totally vulnerable




Is it possible this? I will appreciate any help

Why don't you update to the latest version?
Latest version 4.2.5

You'd 1st do as yilmaz, then post examples of what is being done with real/factual web links.

Thank you, because as far as I know, MGC chatbox EVO oly work to my version, and I cannot loose that chat

It should work fine with version 4.2.5

Just make a backup of everything first to be on the safe side.

As suggested upgrade to latest vbulletin 4.2.5
Rename your modcp/admincp directories, reset your administrators/super-moderators/moderators passwords.. (priority).

From your post it appears, you are running an illegal site which provides download links to premium/paid apps/tools/software ?

Unless you personally own the content of every one of those links and can prove it in a court of law you have no recourse. But, having said that, vBulletin 4 isn't blocking a mother ++++ing thing. Even bots ignore robots.txt files. You're sure as hell not going to be able to block every proxy server or anonymizer. Search engines scrape content and it's very easy to scrape your content from search engines.

If you really own the content and need to block scraping you should probably consider upgrading to vBulletin 5 and contact a good copyright lawyer.

At one point we had one of our forums "scrapped" and the content imported into another vBulletin instance. While we are not sure how it was done, we issued a DMCA take down notice and quickly won.

If you want to block A LOT of proxies, use a firewall (you can use cloudflare if you're not very good at server things), and add the following ASN to your block list : https://github.com/brianhama/bad-asn-list

WARNING : The list above is likely outdated so expect it to block legitimate traffic and miss a lot of new bad ASN. It will require A LOT of work to be fixed.

And there is no way to block 100% of all proxies sadly, because many proxies originate in compromised computers and use residential IP addresses which can only be blocked one at a time. This is the sad reality, there will never be a "block all proxies" magical button as long as people get their computer compromised so easily when they download free games and free p***.
