Default How to fix the Paypal Website Name?

There are two fields for Paypal in admincp>Paid Subscriptions>Payment API Manager>Payal>Edit:

PayPal Email

and

PayPal Primary Account Email

No matter what I write in the second box, when a user is taken to Paypal, my paypal email is showing. My website is referred to in Paypal as my email address.

How do I fix this please? This is a MAJOR coding error by vBulletin.

"PayPal Email" is the one that the money will be sent to, so will be shown. On PayPal this is the "business" attribute.

The only purpose of "PayPal Primary Account Email" in vBulletin is to verify the incoming payment in the IPN (payment notification) handler script. On PayPal this is the "receiver_email" attribute.

https://developer.paypal.com/docs/ip...dPDTVariables/

business Email address or account ID of the payment recipient (that is, the merchant). Equivalent to the values of receiver_email (if payment is sent to primary account) and business set in the Website Payment HTML.

receiver_email Primary email address of the payment recipient (that is, the merchant). If the payment is sent to a non-primary email address on your PayPal account, the receiver_email is still your primary email.

There's nothing to fix here, it works as intended. Somewhere on the PayPal site you should be able to modify the form that your users see.

Yes okay, I have set up a second Paypal email address that more closely matches my website name, but this does not fix the problem.

Here's what a user sees when he clicks Checkout with Paypal on my website:

Page 1 of Paypal: Standard Pay with Paypal screen with "Cancel and return to admin@example.com" written underneath.

Page 2 of Paypal: Paypal Guest Checkout for Credit Card Users asking for POSTAL ADDRESS??? and "Cancel and return to admin@example.com" written underneath.

Page 3 of Paypal: Giant writing above all else: admin@example.com pay this money.

Page 4 of Paypal: You have paid admin@example .com this money. Now redirecting you to admin@example.com

Huh? Did the coders at vBulletin not check their work before they began charging 100,000 people hundreds of dollars for this software? Why am I the first to notice this? This is a major coding error. Customers will NOT trust vBulletin websites to make purchases. I'm getting worried about what other bugs are lurking. Oh, and by the way, the user did not receive a confirmation of his purchase. The admin has no record of this purchase. There is no countdown timer showing the user how many days hours minutes are remaining for their paid subscription. Is this software a joke? Im angry. A refund wouldnt begin to compensate my time. I have paid staff starting work on this supposedly solid platform this week.

--------------- Added [DATE]1580932754[/DATE] at [TIME]1580932754[/TIME] ---------------

I just discovered that the paid subscription, even after it was paid, did not activate the paid subscription settings of changing the user's usergroup for 30 days. It did nothing. They paid 100%. They received nothing.

Paypal has changed their API quite a few times in the last few years, I'd be surprised if the vbulletin integration worked at all these days.

As you already know vbulletin4 is obsolete and hasn't been updated in many years, using this platform for a new project is utterly stupid when there are plenty of up-to-date well-maintained forum platforms out there that conform to all the latest standards.

Thanks guys. The only solution is to upgrade your paypal account to a business account. This allows Paypal to take 30c + 2% each time you receive money. Then you can change the way your name appears at checkout for your users. This information needs to be added to vbulletin instructions.

Be careful everyone. Comments like these that pressure you to upgrade to vb5 are lies. vb5 does not fix vb4 problems. It will also reduce your support tickets from lifetime to 30 days. vb5 is only a skin effectively. vb5 is broken and support ticket response is over 50 hours. If you want help, you might as well hire a developer. vBulletin will encourage you to upgrade and then ignore your requests for fixes to their buggy software.

I didn't say anything about "upgrading" to vb5, I wouldn't use vb5 if it was given away free, what I said is you should look at another platform.
