Test forum in pc

Hi, how can i load my forum in my pc, actually run it.
I have database sql and httpdocs files saved in my pc.

Yes, i just want the copied (backup) database sql and httpdocs files saved in my pc to run them and handle some thing from pc...

while I have never done this for my forum, I use this for my job when training novices on how they can build their own test code to use a company internal API

it allows you to set your machine into localhost mode....

again, I have not tested this myself - but this could be something to look at

Actually I must use a program to upload my sql database and than I must have some where in my pc the httpdocs files that I have backup from my live forum, and than probably I have to use the host control you say above or the same programs do this host thing.

You'll need to set up something like xampp which will create a local server on your hard drive. And on that you can run a copy of your forum.

I use a Mac laptop with OSX which is based on Unix and have Apache, PHP, and MySQL installed. There are minor differences between the setup on my local machine and how things function on our production site, but the vast majority of testing can be done on my local machine

Check out this link https://pureinfotech.com/install-xampp-windows-10/ for how to install and get a basic setup of XAMPP on your machine. If you're running another version of windows, search for XAMPP and your windows version and you'll get dozens of good totorials on how to set it up.

Copy all your site files to wherever XAMPP has your local site hosted and restore you database to MySQL

The final step is to use the tools in the DO_NOT_UPLOAD folder and you can change your site location to your locally hosted machine.

You may need to make some configuration changes in your site to make it work. Mostly paths to files like attachments or your sitemap.
