VBulleting Cloud - Is External Login Possible?

I'm the lead developer for WalterFootball.com. We got hacked by the NSA Leaked hacks, lost our main site as well as our Forum

With our forum down we decided it was time to move our self-hosted forum to the Cloud so we would have one less thing to worry about with maintaining out website.

I had a customization in place on our self-hosted forum that allowed us to use VBulletin as an Identity Providor for our .Net Web application. I knew we would lose this customization but thought I'd be able to at least use the API to let users login. Now I'm finding while I can get the API to work against an Azure instance of the forum over http, it fails when going to the new cloud site...or when using https.

Is it possible to do external login or user identification on vBulletin Cloud?

It does seem to matter if it's HTTP or HTTPS

Support turned of SSL from my cloud VBulletin and posting with HTTP seems to be working.

Which is good enough for my purposes for now. Though I imagine for some people not being able to run at https will be a deal breaker.

Any form of third-party scripts or plugins is not allowed in vBCloud. You won't be able to install the script since you don't have access to the server via FTP, SSH or cPanel.

I'm not looking to customize the forum.

I'm looking to use the API to log a user in. I get that this is in the gray area of being custom code but what is the point of the API if nobody can use it.

Anyway, I have it working on a non SSL enabled forum. But now I'm running into the issue that as my users fail to login I think my external application is getting locked out.

Anybody know measures that can be taken to keep my application from being blocked? Can I see what IP addresses/users are being blocked from API access?

You can access the API, what you can't do is upload any custom files to Cloud, nor can you edit any files or run any plugins.

I'm not and I'm not looking to.

I want to be able to use the login API. Unfortunately I guess I'm using it too much as it appears to be locking. The way I'm using it it would make good sense it may be tripping a security measure.

In which case how can I monitor that? And can some one teach me up on how to properly use the login API securely?
