I'm offering my hard work for free, without even a single copyright line in footer, expecting that some of you will appreciate the time that I spent for coding it and they will donate something.

1.- What's this?

Media Gallery it's a simple Gallery mod supporting Photo and Audio uploads and YouTUBE videos. I was looking for a simple Gallery mod for my own use and as I didn't found something meeting my requirements, I coded this mod. By saying "simple" mostly goes to the easy of use, otherwise it has some great features that you can't even find in big Galleries. It's social share ready especially for Facebook using OpenGraph Meta.

2.- Installation

1. Download the zip file, and unzip it
2. Upload the content of upload/ folder to your forum directory
3. CMOD 777 the directories:
   1. mediagallery/audio
   2. mediagallery/photos
   3. mediagallery/photos/thumbs
4. From your Admincp import product-mediagallery.xml
5. If you're using htaccess file for SEO Urls copy the content of htaccess.txt to your .htaccess file
6. Check and Set Usergroup Permissions
7. Check and Set General Settings
8. Add Categories
9. Moderation is available from ModCP.

PS: For YouTUBE videos the code with tries to fetch the video thumb. Sometimes this action stucks. In this case you can upload your own thumb.

If you're using this mod do you prefer an update for supporting more video providers or is better to release a separate video mod?

From what I understood reading the comments, most of you (if not all), you're using the video only media.

You can manually override this in your browser that lets the video play, but it forces the viewer to see unsecure warnings. Oh wow you're quick. I just finished reading through this while thread, got your mod working perfectly and at the end just saw your kind response.

I think my users will mostly use this for video but there are some who will really appreciate the photo part so I'll check out your other mod (which I had tagged earlier tonight). Seriously, I love this one so much that I can't imagine changing but I'll install the other one also to see. And if you make changes to this one, I really look forward to them!

Stay with what you like. This is my advice. And as I said, I'm planing to add some more features in the video section. Maybe not on the next couple of days, but before summer for sure.

Hi paradoxG(r)eek, I've run into a problem with social sharing. The Facebook share doesn't work and returns a 401/Unauthorized error message. That was happening to me in VBulletin Social bookmarking also until I changed to code to

http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u={URL}&title={TITLE}

I am not sure where I can even try to change it in this mod to get Facebook working. Can you help me please?

Also, the Pinterest doesn't work either but I have no idea what their code is now.

On edit. Scratch the part about Facebook. The problem was that since I'm still in dev mode, the entire VB directory was privacy protected. So it works but it doesn't embed the video. It gives the correct forum link but not the title and not the video. Is that possible?

If not, no worries. My users will just have to type it in
