Any word on auto-embedding images/gifs?

I don't really want to upload the images to my server or anything.

I'm talking you paste an image link and it automatically embeds the same way these youtube ones do. I strongly dislike vb's way of embedding images. It's slow and requires a bunch of clicks instead of just pasting a url.
