What's the difference between the post ip and user ip?
There is this one guy trying to post on my forum yesterday. I checked his post and I just found out that his registration ip (which I checked his profile) is different from the ip when he is posting a new thread. Why is that happen? Are this two ip not related? How it can be different?Need help.

Most peoples IPs change over time anyway, they are not fixed.
Some can change every day, or if you are still on dial-up, every session. If you post from different places then its obviously going to be different as well. If you think one persons IP is always going to be constant, then I'm afraid you are mistaken. |

Thank you for your quick response. So you mean that he is posting from different place and he registered in different place also?Or maybe his ip changing everytime he open up his computer?

Dont get tied up in the importance of IP addresses, they are not like the movies would have you believe. |

I used to get freaked out over ip changes by members or get new members that share the same ip and would only allow one ip and would start banning those with multiple ip's. Banning ip's is a wast of time and not effective by any means. You best bet would be to not let changing ip's by your members bother you and welcome every new member you get with open arms.... |
