What exactly are advisors and what do they do? Are they moderators?

The advisory aspect is primarily associated with the advice/help given to users posting questions about how to accomplish their goals via the vB software.

They help out and we recognize that they give good help/advice and so we label them as Advisors. We hope that that gives people more confidence in the help they get from the user/Advisor.
